The Dwarven Nation, Tessin

Karina-chan is back!

Karina-chan here! I was playing with a slime and ended up itchy-itchy all over my body!

But my cute Dea-kun bought medicine for me! And when I applied it, wonder of wonders, I was back to normal in no time!

Karina-chan is back! Karina-chan is back! Karina-chan is baaack!!

Yes.

So anyway, thanks to the pain relief potion Dea-kun bought me, Karina-chan has made a full recovery.

Itching is a type of sensory stimulation. In other words, numbing-type pain relievers are effective against it, ma'am!

Man, modern knowledge really came through this time!

Huh? It depends on the situation, and the pain reliever could've made it even itchier?

Yeah, well, guess my daily conduct has just been that good!!

"Setting aside the matter of Master's daily conduct, here's the information on the Divine Artifact."

"Okay."

While I was writhing in itchiness, Aishia had been investigating based on the information Dea-kun brought back along with the pain relief potion.

"The Divine Artifact 'Breaching Wall Hammer,' commonly called the 'Wall Breaker.' Just as Dea-sama's information indicated, it's on display at the Akahagane Museum."

"If it's just on display, it should be fine even if it goes missing."

"Indeed. It's a hammer that can only destroy castle walls, so it's not particularly useful outside of wartime sieges."

Yep, yep. This means retrieving it shouldn't result in anyone dying or anything.

"Then let's grab it quick and head to the Beast Kingdom next. Apparently there's a bunny-eared Siesta there."

"Looks like this one will wrap up without any trouble."

"Might be a little too peaceful, even. Almost boring."

And so, I decided to head to the museum to confirm the real thing.

I also wanted to do some sightseeing while we were at it, so we set out on a casual stroll. Dea-kun and the others came along too.

"Onee-san, I bought some skewered meat. Here you go!"

"Thanks, Dea-kun! Can't skip the local grilled skewers, after all. Wonder what kind of meat this is. Whoa, salty."

"It's Rock Lizard meat! They're these cheap little punks that stick rocks to their bodies to boost their defense, but the meat's edible… Whoa, salty. The seasoning's intense. My tongue's going numb here."

"The heavy seasoning is partly because rock salt is mined nearby, but it's mostly because it pairs well with alcohol… Master, may I go buy some juice?"

That "juice" is alcoholic, you know.

Well, a little bit should be fine. Today's just casual sightseeing, and Aishia's a half-dwarf, so she can hold her liquor.

"Oh, while you're at it, buy some for us too. Non-alcoholic, please."

"Non-alcoholic drinks probably aren't available at the stalls around here. Is that alright? It'll take some time."

"Seriously?"

Water and such are available at inns, so it's not like non-alcoholic drinks don't exist, but apparently the stalls only stock alcohol since it sells better and keeps longer.

Well then, guess I have no choice but to drink in the middle of the day.

Oh, but get the weakest stuff you can. We're scoping out work after this, you know.

"Oh, Dea-kun, you can borrow this. It's a Magic Tool that purifies poisoned water, and apparently it can turn alcohol into water too."

"Oh, the one made from me! Dea-kun, please use it!"

"… Thank you. Hey, Aishia-san, what do people who can't drink alcohol normally do?"

"There are no dwarves like that, not even babies, but travelers usually fill canteens with water at inns and such. Though Master has water stored away, so it's probably unnecessary."

Oh right, I do use bath water and stuff regularly. Yep.

Glug glug, pwaah. Ahh, I'm getting tipsy.

"Master, shall we head to the museum soon?"

"Sure thing! Ahaha!"

"Man, the mood's really picking up now!"

"U-um. It was a little lonely not being allowed to drink, but I suppose someone needs to stay level-headed, yes… Should I take this as being trusted, I wonder?"

Dea-kun muttered something like being the designated driver at a drinking party, and with that, we headed to the museum.
