The Dwarven Nation, Tessin
It's a miracle of god!
Mie-chan held the Wall Breaker aloft, ascending the altar one step at a time.
Slowly. As if treading upon the history of Tessin itself.
Taking her time, she finally reached the ceremonial space and gently placed the Wall Breaker down on the pedestal.
"O God! God of our world! We offer our sincerest gratitude for bestowing upon us this power!"
Mie-chan shouted at the top of her lungs.
"We, the dwarves of Tessin, wish to return this power to the divine! Please, accept our offering!!"
"""""Please, accept our offering!!"""""
All of the Five Elders cried out toward the heavens.
Now it's my turn—
—Wait, huh?
I felt a sensation like I'd taken a full swing and completely whiffed.
… Hmm? No way, my Spatial Magic misfired at this timing!? Why!?
Then, the very next moment, I sensed a circular portion of the sky being neatly cut away.
At the same time, my body went rigid. I-I can't move!?
"Oh, children of the dwarves. Do you say that you no longer need this power?"
A lovely voice like tinkling bells shook the very air, raining down from the sky.
Oh my, I do believe I recognize this voice?
"… !? Y-Yes! We once needed it, but it is now power beyond our station. We return it to you!!"
Mie-chan adapted to the sudden change by ad-libbing her lines a bit.
She shot me a look that said "Honestly, don't just change things on me!" but it wasn't me.
Goddess? Why are you interfering? Hey.
"Children of the dwarves. I feel a touch of loneliness, yet great joy."
As she said that, white clouds descended, swelling into the shape of a young girl's hand.
Though it had the form of a young girl's hand, it was the enormous arm of a god.
The hand plucked up the Wall Breaker as easily as picking up a pebble and returned to the sky.
"I have certainly received your return. Children of the dwarves, may you continue to prosper."
The Goddess's voice sounded delighted. Immediately after, there was a pop! like something bursting.
Orbs of light showered down upon the dwarven village, and a circular rainbow like an angel's halo spread across the sky.
Well, if it were actually a rainbow, it'd be ignoring the sun's position way too much, so it must be something else entirely…
And with that, I could move again.
"Ah, I can move again…!"
"… Master? Is something the matter? Actually, are you alright? You're sweating profusely."
If you're asking whether I'm alright… I feel as exhausted as if I'd been spamming high-mana-cost Duplications non-stop.
"… That just now, wasn't me."
"Eh, so that means?"
"The Goddess. She probably borrowed my body to do all that stuff…"
…
Hold on a second, did the Goddess just steal this from me?
That was worth 1000 SP, you know!?
Up on the platform, Mie-chan and the others were shouting "It's a miracle of god! Oooooh!!" to pump up the crowd, while the masses raised their cups in a toast.
And I ran toward the church. Feeling the disgruntled gazes of Mie-chan and the others on my back.
If this counts as her stealing my credit, I'm gonna give her a piece of my mind, even if she is a goddess!!
