Beast Kingdom, Terarialbee

That's the same system as this!!

After finishing watching the barehanded tournament, we decided to wander around the town while looking for an inn.

Terarialbee is a country that welcomes tourists with open arms, so there are plenty of inns. No need to rush.

Besides, even if we couldn't find an inn in the worst case, it wouldn't be a problem. We've got the base, after all.

All I really need from an inn is a safe place to set up the door to our base and an alibi that we're staying there.

Being able to stay at any inn with a private room is quite the perk.

"Personally, I'd like to sample the local cuisine for reference, but I suppose restaurants and taverns would work for that too."

"You're so diligent, Aishia."

Markets and food stalls had popped up around the Coliseum, bustling with activity. About half the people walking by had ears or tails, making it immediately obvious they were beastkin.

Among the stalls was a secondhand clothing shop. Most of the pants being sold had tail holes, and they were also selling "scraps for patching up tail holes" for people without tails. Apparently, they'll sew it up for free as a service. As expected of the beastkin nation and a tourist spot.

"Huh, that's a clever business. Once you patch up the tail hole, no returns allowed, right?"

"Eh, is that so, Dea-kun?"

"Sure, you could resell it as secondhand clothing, but the point is 'Now that you've patched up the tail hole, you can't return it to us.'"

The moment he said that, a memory from Japan came flooding back.

On my middle school field trip to Kyoto, there was a store selling brass knuckles and handcuffs that had absolutely nothing to do with Kyoto, and they offered a 'free name engraving service'… wait, that's the exact same system as this!!

Oh my god. Back then, I bought brass knuckles without a second thought and happily got my name engraved on them! They're still sitting in my desk drawer at my parents' house, never used even once…!!

"… Well, it's still a good memory, right!"

"Well, if you're not returning it, then it doesn't really matter, does it?"

Well, they took up less space than a wooden sword, and the teacher never found out. The kids who bought wooden swords got chewed out as usual, hahaha.

After buying some unfamiliar fruits and vegetables at the tourist market, I suddenly remembered that I hadn't visited either the Merchants' Guild or the Adventurers' Guild yet.

"I'm sorry, Master. I didn't notice either."

"Now that you mention it, I was kind of thinking today felt like sightseeing with Onee-san."

"Yeah, I headed straight to the arena first thing and totally forgot. Let me go check them out real quick."

I marked Dea-kun and the others and headed to the Merchants' Guild.

I asked the owner of the greengrocer I'd just bought from for directions, so I found it right away.

And.

I wholesaled some fire liquor to the Merchants' Guild and got three gold coins for it. I wanted to stock up on something while I was there, but since the city's main industry is tourism centered around the Coliseum, there weren't any rare specialty goods to be found.

Maybe I should buy up some of those unfamiliar fruits and vegetables from the market? No, they don't seem to keep well, so it'd be weird for a traveling merchant to stock up on them… Unless I say Healer prepared a refrigerator…?

While pondering that, I headed to the Adventurers' Guild next and completed the delivery quest from Tessin to get some pocket money.

Just as I was thinking about meeting back up with Dea-kun and the others, the receptionist called out to me.

"Oh, congratulations. You've been promoted to D-rank."

"Oh, really? Yay. Please handle the paperwork."

If I remember right, the D-rank requirements were earning at least two large silver coins a month and putting in a certain amount of time? That lumberjack work I did before must have paid off.

"Among the party members of 'Fakers,' the one called Healer can be promoted to C-rank. Please let them know."

"Ah, is that so? Roger that."

Wait, C-rank? He passed me? I don't think he completed any notable quests… Oh, his achievements in Karkassa must have added up. That reward was in gold coins, after all.

"By the way, what about Dea-kun?"

"That person is still E-rank."

Well, as an adventurer, Dea-kun has only done delivery quests, so it can't be helped.

"Oh, that's right. If you want to raise your rank in this town, participating in guild-sponsored tournaments is also an option."

"Oh?"

Apparently, for tournaments sponsored by the Adventurers' Guild, participation counts as a quest from the guild, and the fight money is treated as quest rewards.

There are even party battle tournaments. Oho, that's good to know.

Since we're here, maybe I should help Dea-kun rank up!
