The Magic Tool's Done!
"""""The Magic Tool you asked for is done!"""""
"As expected of the Five Elders-emon!"
And so my personal mana-concealment Magic Tool, the God-Bone Bracelet, was complete! Ah, properly speaking it's the God-Bone Bracelet (Provisional)!
As expected of my wives! Yeah! The Five Elders!
"It's a bit much and kinda gaudy with how many there are, though. If you put one of these on every part of your body that has the word 'neck' in it, that'll keep it suppressed nicely."
"That said, keep your magic's output as low as you can. If you go all-out it'll probably still burst."
"Going full power was tough even using your materials, Kari-chan. Sorry."
"If we had a little more time and budget… I'll have an improved version that's just an armlet by tomorrow!"
"I'll put them on you. Strip, strip."
And so, onto my neck… ah, eh, there too? Nooo.
Right. Anyway, rings were attached to every spot with "neck" in the name, seven in total. This is supposed to keep my leaking mana in check.
To think they really could make it in a single night…!
"Well, it's hard for us to confirm whether it's functioning properly, so have the elf teachers check it for you."
"We're gonna sleep for now, so tell us how it went when you get back."
"But leave the materials before you go. We want to look into them right after we wake up."
"Copies of bone and heart are fine, thanks. The Arthur materials too, please. We'll take any leftovers, that's okay, right?"
"By the way, if it does burst, the first one to go will be this one here. It's closest to the heart, after all, so there's just no avoiding it."
So with that, I figured I'd have Lakto-sensei or Iz-sensei take a look at it today.
I duplicated the materials they ordered and handed them over. Go ahead, go ahead, use them however you like. I'll bump up the Orichalcum too.
The Five Elders are having fun again today, which is what matters most.
Now then, planning to have Lakto-sensei check it, I came by the staff room before class.
"Eh? You already had the concealment Magic Tool made? … Did you place the order in advance?"
"No, Lakto-sensei. Once I prepared the materials, my wives made it in a single night!"
"Hoh. They must be quite the talented group of Magic Tool artisans… I'm starting to want something made for me too. But, your wives?"
"My wives, yes."
"Aren't you a woman, Karina-san?"
"I like girls."
"And the plural 'wives' means… it's the team your wife belongs to, correct?"
"Five dwarf wives. The five of them together are a team. Pretty famous, actually."
"Dwarves, huh… Different culture, then."
Saying that, Lakto-sensei gazed up at the staff room ceiling.
Even after hearing I'm into girls and married to five of them, he didn't change expression one bit. Amazing!
But Fletta-chan ended up accepting it too, so maybe elves are surprisingly tolerant.
"So, these armlets and chokers are that Magic Tool?"
"I've got them under my clothes and on my ankles too. Anyway, I wanted to have you check it for me, Lakto-sensei."
"Sure."
"I trust my wives, so mind if I use a little magic right here?"
"… Please go easy, all right?"
"I've been told it can't withstand full power, so yes."
I cracked open my storage space just a touch.
I don't really get it myself, but Lakto-sensei was impressed, going "Ohh!"
"Oh! Incredible, I can't feel it at all!"
"Is that so?"
"Yes! Up until the other day, every time you activated that Spatial Magic, Karina-san, there was a sense of despair like standing before a massive tsunami, but now it's suppressed down to about the level of an ordinary high-tier annihilation spell!"
A sense of despair like standing before a massive tsunami… Is my Spatial Magic really that conspicuous a tyrant?
And even suppressed it's still a high-tier annihilation spell, huh… I'll have to look forward to the improved version.
"So, just what kind of Magic Tool is it? Might I take a closer look?"
"Sure. Just the wrist one, though. The ones under my clothes are, well…"
"Ah, of course. Then, let me see… Um, isn't this Orichalcum…?"
"Yes."
"'Yes' doesn't quite cover it?"
Eh, is there a problem?
"Ah, is it that it's too flashy as an accessory and against the school rules? I thought a simple ring shape wouldn't be a problem to wear to school…"
"… In terms of price, it goes past flashy and right into national treasure class."
Ahh, true. The price, huh. Using Orichalcum, the price isn't gonna be cute.
"Then when I get home I'll ask if it can be made with cheaper materials."
"If Orichalcum is what's just barely managing to suppress it, isn't that reckless?"
"My wives aren't your average Magic Tool artisans, so I'm sure they'll figure something out! Even with ordinary iron or whatever!"
"If something that can seal a god's power could be made out of ordinary iron, that would give me a headache of a different sort…"
"Then I'll compromise at around mithril."
"That's the compromise. I see…"
Lakto-sensei sighed, "Haah."
"… By the way, what is this ominous, mana-leaking material? Some kind of horn, perhaps?"
"Ah, that's a dragon's horn. It's from my pet."
"Pet, you say."
"He's a cute little guy, you know?"
"Um… are you bringing a dragon into this country…?"
"Oh, crap. Please keep it a secret."
"… I'm afraid I do have an obligation to report it."
"He's a good boy who's very attached to Dea-kun too! Please, I beg you!"
"Eh, to Deasalt-kun? Hmm… If it's Deasalt-kun, he'll have properly reported it, so I suppose it's fine even if I don't say anything."
Thank goodness! Dea-kun's everyday good conduct saved me!
"But let's confirm it. Check whether you've properly reported it to Deasalt-kun, and let me know."
"You got it! It's probably fine!"
"This is a matter that could affect the nation's survival, so 'probably' is a bit troubling."
Ehh… Dragons are cute little things that'll do what you say if you just hit them…
"By the way, what about this reddish-brown part? I sense an awful lot of mana pressure from this one too."
"Ah, that's my dried-up heart."
"Hea… rt…? Um, Karina-san, are you alive?"
"I'm not a zombie. I'm properly alive. Look, a heart heals if you use healing magic, so it's no big deal, right?"
"A fragment this size I could manage to heal, but losing even a fragment of your heart is normally a serious injury, isn't it? Were you all right?"
Aww, Lakto-sensei worrying about me, how kind.
"I'm fine. That's one I duplicated with Spatial Magic. See, it's like that crystal."
"Duplicated… yes, well, how should I put it. Karina-san, shouldn't you keep a few more things hidden?"
"I've already told you about the god, Lakto-sensei, so I figured it was fine."
"… Is that so."
Huh, Lakto-sensei, did you find an interestingly shaped stain on the ceiling?
