Privacy and your private life are important.
Karina-chan here. After delivering to the Goddess — and picking up some socks on the side — I came back to my storage space.
The pirate ship I turned in as an artifact had been dismantled. The leftover timber with the artifact bits removed, plus cargo and provisions, were all neatly sorted and placed. As expected of the Goddess, such meticulous work. Truly a divine service.
Oh, this bed looks nice. I'll be using it.
"Welcome back, Karina-neesan."
"I'm home—wait, you're still up. Also, that white one-piece is cute. Looks great on you."
"… Thank you. I, um, couldn't sleep."
Dea had changed into a dress. White this time.
Pajamas, maybe. Nice!
"There's something I hadn't told you, Onee-san…"
"Hm? What is it?"
A confession? The thing the Goddess said: his first love…
Wait, no. I can't date a boy!?
Well… if it's an femboy, maybe? Genderbent girl plus femboy, divide by two… perfect balance!? Uwaah, what do I do? He's so cute, that makes it worse!
Yes, no, no but yes? Yes but no??
Aaaah, what do I do!?
"… My real name is Deeasolt Hyria Beltox. I'm sorry I kept that from you, Karina-neesan."
"Give me a minute to—oh, just your name… And, uh, what's there to apologize for? I said from the start aliases were fine."
"Eh? Ah, if it's fine with you, then it's fine."
No problem hiding his name. That Dee-something… Given the length, he's probably some noble's son.
It'd be a scandal if a noble lad or lady got snatched by pirates. Hiding it is normal.
"'Dea-kun' is cuter, so can I keep calling you that? Your real name's a bit long."
"! Y-yes! Of course!"
Dea lit up. Also, I'm sleepy and can't memorize that mouthful.
What a sunny smile.
"Oh, right. Since we'll be living together, we should make rooms."
"Make… rooms?"
"Yeah. Privacy and your private life are important."
So first, I split off my always-exposed living space into a separate pocket, then mounted a door — salvaged from the pirate ship — as the entrance.
Open the door and it connects into my room-space. With a lock, of course.
—Room-space, complete!
"I'll make you a room like this, too."
"I see. Then the old area becomes like a living room?"
"That's good. Let's make a living room too."
That means I'll need a sofa. Did the pirates have any good ones?
If not, I'll make one.
"Where do you want your room?"
"Next to yours, Karina-neesan!"
"Then side by side. Let's see, this door?"
I set two doors, making the other one lead to Dea's room. When I opened it, an empty white room spread out.
… If both doors are open at once, the overlapping space makes my head feel weird. Real apartments don't do that.
They're different spaces, so it's soundproof even if you pound on the wall.
"I roughed in the size. If it's too small I can easily expand it. Want windows?"
"Eh, where would they lead?"
"Fixed panes that don't open, looking out on… a generic outside?"
I tried it, and sunlight poured in. No need to make the room-space glow. Curtains can handle adjustment. Maybe add inward-opening shutters too.
"… Looking out, we're in the sky somewhere."
"It'd cause a stir if a random window appeared in town after all."
"What if a flying monster hits it?"
"Even if it does, we'll be fine."
Monsters will probably avoid it anyway.
"Let's move furniture. The beds and chairs from the pirates, bring them here. A closet would be nice too. Obviously fill it with cute girls' clothes! And a full-length mirror here!"
"Uu… o-okay. I'll do my best."
If you point and say where, I can place it in one go with spatial magic.
No 'I'll do my best' required.
For Dea's room: a pirate-looted bed, a lamp-type magic item, a table, and some chairs. Swap the closet's contents for girls' outfits, naturally.
Minimum room vibes achieved. Okay.
"Right. Dea-kun's room is done."
"Thank you ver… fwaa… I feel sleepy now that I'm relaxed."
"Let's sleep for now. I'm sleepy too… When we wake up, we'll tweak the layout and play with alchemy again. Night."
"Yes, good night, Karina-neesan."
Rubbing his eyes, Dea headed to his room…
Fwaa. Okay, I'm going to sleep too. Night.
