Souvenirs from the Holy Kingdom

I discreetly bought various accessories as souvenirs for Nerune so that NaanaToy wouldn't notice.

I managed to buy all the displayed items for just one gold coin, so it was a great deal! … Yeah, I need to be careful not to become too extravagant with my spending.

Although having Nerune investigate them through me transforming into the magic tools with [Super Transformation] was an option, I wasn't too keen on having my body tampered with.

It's not like I was short on money either. It would have been another story altogether if I'd had that sort of fetish.

I used [Storage] and had the Soto Transport deliver the accessories to Nerune quickly, along with a pair of socks as the shipping fee.

I immediately showed the accessories I'd gotten to Nerune.

"As magic tools~, these all have rather weak abilities~. They're more like accessories that can also be used practically~"

"So their value as accessories is higher, huh?"

It would be advantageous to wear magic tools in the Empire since they'd be hard to detect. People who knew about magic stones would still recognize them, though.

"This one only causes a small explosion~, so it's more for peace of mind~. And if you suck on this water magic stone necklace~, it'll moisten your throat a bit~… I suppose it's better than nothing~"

"Heeeh. That necklace would be a godsend in a desert. Its teardrop shape and watery look have a nice vibe too."

"Eh~? You could just use magic to produce water~. Well~, I suppose it might save some resources~? Maybe it would be more useful for those Holy Kingdom dungeons~"

Using it in dungeon exploration could save resources compared to carrying water or using regular magic.

"These wind magic stone earrings and ring pair should reproduce [Air Voice] effect~. They'd have better range with a higher grade magic stone though~… Oh, I see~. By engraving the magic stone only on the hidden side touching the magic tool~, the visible side can be polished like a gem without any issues~… Hmmm~?"

"What's up, Nerune?"

"Well, if you talk to the ring~, wouldn't your voice reach all the earrings within the effective range~…? It's only specified to [Exclude Itself]~"

"Maybe it's designed for use by a group of people?"

It looked like it could be used as a communication device for a family restaurant or something… It might be a good idea to give some to Kinue-san to use in the cafeteria? The wind attribute's green color was just right to boot.

"This fire magic stone earring is a souvenir for Rokuko-sama~, isn't it~?"

"Yes, I also bought a pair for Rokufa, but I figured it would suit Rokuko just as well."

"I think it's a great choice~. Although it's an explosive~, there appears to be various safety measures in place~. I believe she'll be delighted~"

Unlike gunpowder, magic tools could have safety features that allowed for various conditions to be specified for the explosion to actually take place. They wouldn't detonate even if they were destroyed or damaged. Given that they were located right next to someone's face and definitely had a chance to break mid-battle, that was a pretty damned good feature to have.

"How about it, Nerune? You want one too since I gave some to the others? This yellow stone bracelet seems like it would suit you."

"This is an earth attribute~… Aha, this looks like a self-defense tool that produces sand for blinding someone~? Interesting~."

It seemed quite handy for self-defense.

"What would be a good choice for Rei? Since it's a special occasion~, please choose one for her~, Master~"

"Hm? Wouldn't it be better if she chose one from among the rest herself?"

"She'll be happier if Master chooses it for her~"

Hmm, I see. If that's how dungeon monsters felt, then Nerune, who was also a dungeon monster, was probably right.

"A bracelet like Nerune's… No, it probably wouldn't blind people if Rei used it."

"It would only create a strange sensation if she gets it into people's eyes~, but there shouldn't be any pain since she has zero attack power~… something like that~?"

If Rei used the those fire attribute earrings, the explosion might only be strong enough to slightly push people's bodies.

At least the Crossbow Golem I made specifically for Rei, I could bypass her zero attack power by having the Golem fire it on her command. However, if she were to activate a magic tool by channeling her magic power into it, it would be like her attacking directly.

"Something useful in daily life might be better."

"In that case~, how about this pacifier necklace~?"

"A pacifier…? Would it be a bit cumbersome to wear along with the Holy Seal on her neck?"

What else might be suitable…

"Master~, how about this pendant~? It lights up~"

"An alternative to [Light]? A pendant that shines by itself… for a Vampire?"

"I suppose there's an argument that it's unnecessary since she has night vision~"

I thought it seemed like a certain toy with an LED built into it, but since Nerune wouldn't understand that reference, I kept it to myself. Well, in that case…

"An earring~? Will Master pierce her ears for her~?"

Piercing someone's ears was scary. As for its effect, it was a thin blindfold for the wearer, providing a sunglasses-like effect. Maybe it'd be perfect as an eye mask?

Well, she'd probably remove her accessories when she went to sleep anyway.

"How about this bracelet? It's a wind attribute, so it'd be similar to Kinue-san's gift."

"A breeze-producing one, huh~? It seems like it could be used for kindling~"

"I figured it'd be nice to use to make wind blow towards you when it's hot."

"Hohoh~, that is a good idea~!"

It seemed quite handy, like a portable fan. It might become surprisingly popular if made available in dungeons.

"So are Niku-senpai's and Ichika-senpai's gifts next~? Oh, do we need one for Soto-sama as well~?"

"… Wait, do I have to choose for everyone?"

"It's not good to leave people out~, right~? It should be fine even if you choose casually though~"

In the end, I had to choose magic tool accessories for Rei and the others as well.
