The Aspiring-Ojou-sama-type Dungeon Streamer
A Collaboration Invite
That day, just as Karona logged into BCD, Sebas called out to her.
"Eh, a collaboration invite?"
"Indeed. A letter has arrived from Yamato-sama of Dungeon Braver. Please do review it, Ojou-sama."
Sebas held out a paper envelope with its wax seal already broken… though really it was digital data, just an already-opened email. As she took it, the message displayed itself in a window.
Subject: Invitation to a Collaboration Stream
Dear Karona Ryutanji-jou,
This is Yamato, of Dungeon Braver.
I am deeply indebted to you for your help in the Red Cavern, and have since been enjoying your streams regularly.
To cut to the chase: would you be interested in doing a collaboration stream with us sometime?
I recently watched your clip-viewing stream, and was quite taken with your long-range attack method using the slimes. I would very much like to be instructed in the technique.
As tuition, I intend to transfer 90% of the revenue from the stream/videos in question to Karona-jou.
If you're amenable, I'd like to discuss the particulars, so please reach out at your convenience.
Looking forward to your reply.
It was an exceedingly proper, above-board invitation to a collaboration.
Yamato of Dungeon Braver was the warrior she'd crossed paths with, however briefly, in the boss room of the Red Cavern, the sole multi dungeon in which Karona had managed to shine.
"… Is this for real? Wasn't that person's speech rather more casual?"
"Judging from the sender, it's unmistakably the man himself."
"Could it be that this is how he actually talks by default?"
Karona was performing an Ojou-sama roleplay, but the person inside, Saya, was a perfectly ordinary commoner. In daily life she didn't speak in an Ojou-sama register.
If it were Karona, she'd never drop her Ojou-sama roleplay even in an email, but…
"Ojou-sama. Unless you're on close terms with someone, when making a request you don't just open with casual speech. That's what's known as adult business manners."
"Oh my, is that how it works?"
"Yamato-sama is a part-time B-Caster, after all. Quite a well-mannered fellow. This old man has taken a liking to him. His email makes the request and its background easy to follow, and it's pleasant to read."
Recipient's name, sender's name, a brief greeting. Then the request, followed by the context behind it. And finally the compensation and the sign-off. A business email flowing like clear water.
Even the line breaks, placed at comfortable intervals, were a subtle touch aimed at improving the email's readability.
On top of that, Yamato's Dungeon Braver channel had over 3,500 subscribers, more than triple Karona's own. They were, in a sense, the senior party.
And yet they were making the request in a polite, deferential manner, and on top of that were offering to hand over the lion's share of the collab stream and video revenue to Karona.
"Sebas, from your perspective, does that make this a good offer?"
"Well, it's not a bad one, I'd say. Their channel's videos and streams all had the feel of standard, orthodox fantasy-adventure content. It's not going to turn out to be a scam, at any rate."
The capable butler had, it seemed, already wrapped up his background check on Dungeon Braver… or rather, his channel check.
That being the case, the rest came down to Karona's own feelings.
… Honestly, doing a collab with someone she'd only exchanged a handful of words with was a little scary.
But! In the first place, Karona had originally dived into the multi dungeon Red Cavern in hopes of exactly this sort of encounter. So this was a case of "couldn't have asked for better"!
… She hadn't dived into a single multi dungeon since, though.
"Understood. I'll accept this offer!"
"As you wish, Ojou-sama. Shall I draft a reply, then?"
"Yes, let's write one up right away."
And with that, Karona set about writing her reply… only for her hand to abruptly freeze mid-motion.
"… Sebas, could you teach me how to write an email that won't come across as rude? I'm pretty sure emoji and kaomoji are a no-no in business emails, right?"
"Ho-ho-ho! So Ojou-sama has reached the age where she starts to care about such things. Of course, I shall be happy to teach you."
And so, Karona wrote out an email accepting Dungeon Braver's collab stream offer.
… The fact that, on the inside, Sebas's "jiiya" role had her going "uhehehe, jiiya is the best desuwa" was glaringly obvious, but that's a secret.
