[Kokuyou]: "By the way, the rewards shoot up. If anything, this is a prime earning opportunity!"

She'd been startled at first, but the phrase "prime earning opportunity" caught Karona's eye.

"… Yamato-sama. For reference, roughly how much does the reward get bumped up by?"

"Depends on the dungeon, but this is a 'real dungeon' we're obligated to destroy, after all. National subsidies get paid out to both the Dungeon Master and the clearers… Speaking just of the clear reward, even at this scale, it goes up by 500,000 yen."

By now, entries to Slime Falls were probably flooding in, everyone chasing that dungeon-clear reward, Yamato said.

A beginner dungeon, after all. And yet one with a real-dungeon reward bonus tacked on. A juicy target.

"Five-hun…!?"

"That said, the clear reward only goes to whoever destroys the Dungeon Core. For a party, it gets split, so with the four of us right now, it's about 130,000 yen each. Ah, this one's kept separate from the stream-side agreement, that okay?"

"Yes, that's fine… but in other words, unless we settle this quickly and take out the slime, the bonus reward gets snatched away from us!?"

"Yeah. We'd still get the contribution-based reward, in theory… Are we doing this, Karona-jou?"

"Yes! 130,000 yen is huge! Before it gets snatched away, we finish this thing off swiftly!!"

"Heh. Figured you'd say that!"

As if her earlier panic had been a lie, Karona was now brimming with motivation.

Right then. Now that it was decided, they had to clear this Huge Slime before anyone else could cut in.

[DM]: "This is the Dungeon Master of 'Slime Falls.' To everyone attempting to clear: please be careful of the slime pitfall gimmicks. Some, once you fall in, will numb your senses and then melt your equipment. With the Awakening, the pits seem to have shifted from their original locations."

Across the wide-area chat, the Dungeon Master who had built "Slime Falls" broadcast clear-strategy info.

An Awakened dungeon was already a semi-Dungeon-Disaster. It had to be handled smoothly, which naturally meant the Dungeon Master was willing to dispense spoilers.

"that info's useless to us at this point. give us boss info!"

"so reinforcements are gonna be a while…"

An Awakened dungeon, now out from under the Dungeon Master's management, undergoes transformation. But that doesn't mean the original clear-info becomes totally useless. Even after transforming, it rarely strays far from what it was.

"Wha!? Dungeon Master-san!? Such a villainous trap!?"

"That said, it's bought us more time to tackle this ourselves."

And however many traps the dungeon sprouted along the way, Karona's group was already face-to-face with the boss from before the transformation, so they didn't care. Changes in the boss itself, however, would affect them.

And just then, additional info came in from the Dungeon Master.

[DM]: "Here's the boss info. Red Huge Slime. At range, it attacks by throwing slimes. As a gimmick, there's a 'Healing Waterfall' that auto-regenerates it, so it'll keep throwing slimes indefinitely. Overwhelm it with raw firepower and you should win. Everyone, thank you for your cooperation in the clear."

"Urgh, so that's the gimmick!"

"No wonder its volume wasn't going down…!"

It seemed Karona's group had been pointlessly engaged in Slime Golf and Slime Home Run competitions.

"Well, er, just slugging slimes endlessly isn't going to cut it!?"

"All we have to do is stop that waterfall! There's gotta be a gimmick for it somewhere, right!?"

[DM]: "My apologies, I haven't prepared any waterfall-stopping gimmick. Please figure something out."

A voice chat from the Dungeon Master came zinging over to Karona and the others.

So apparently this was a fairly stiff dungeon wearing the skin of a beginner-friendly one.

That said, for practicing Slime Golf, there was no finer environment. Infinite swings available.
