Condemnation Arc ~ Now, At Last, It's Comeuppance Time! ~
If I'm Supremely Happy, Then Everyone Else Is Relatively Unhappy, Desu wa!
Epilogue
Koleha became crown princess.
Determined not to let the Saint slip away, the royal house made the marriage official on the very day of the graduation party. Per Koleha's wish to show off with a grand ceremony, the wedding itself would be held after graduation, but her name was entered into the Daido royal registry, and she became Koleha Daido.
More precisely, since Saints retained their family middle name, she was Koleha Nyarlathotep Daido.
Somehow… she had a feeling whether or not she had a middle name might determine whether a death flag existed, so she gladly accepted it.
During her academy years, she was placed in the same class as Harks starting from year two, and they flirted to an excessive degree, showing off to everyone around them.
No one could complain; they were the Saint and crown prince, and their grades were top of the class. "We can only flirt at school while we're still students, sorry, forgive us!"—Harks let his authority do the talking. A frivolous use of power.
Harks never interacted with any woman but Koleha; sometimes he even had her sit on his lap during lectures. The memory of one single male teacher groaning as he ground chalk to powder would stay with them fondly.
"Lady Koleha, a happy day to you."
"My! Is that what they call nail art? How adorable, how splendid!"
"Your Highness the Crown Princess, those who couldn't join our faction were gnashing their teeth!"
And so her followers grew. The game was over. How delightful.
Of course, Summer was the leader of those followers. She was the Saint, after all.
She continued in her service. When wearing makeup, she attended Koleha as the Saint Hiiro; otherwise, she served as the ordinary maid Summer.
Switching between roles depending on when status was needed. Truly a capable retainer.
Summer, for the record, became engaged to Kurushu. "If I could marry Motomoto, I'd be Ojou-sama's sister-in-law, but you two get along so well it's too awe-inspiring, so I'll settle for being a cousin-in-law. The second prince? He's in a faction opposed to Lady Koleha. Our relationship is already exposed, so that would be impossible," she said.
As for Kurushu, apparently he was sometimes made to cross-dress by Saintly authority. Complete with ringlet extensions: a generic Koleha look. Pitiful.
And Kenho, having been dumped, immersed himself in the way of the sword. Pitiful.
And so their school days came to an end and they married upon graduation.
Blessed by the nation, they paraded through town, and Koleha did not miss the few bitter, envious faces in the crowd. Those were the faces she'd wanted to see!!
"Ufufu…! Seeing the faces of the masses like this, truly delightful!"
"… Mm, they're doing good work. As expected of the Four Seasons Troupe."
"Your Highness Harks, did you say something?"
"Ah. A troupe I've long favored. I asked them to work the parade. It's nothing, Koleha."
After that, Koleha had the now-independent noble Campbell Hastur develop heating and cooling magitech, digital communication magitech, and even magitech for making sweet potato shochu. He continued to excel in the field.
She also proactively inspected orphanages, worked to secure employees, and laughed grandly, "Ooh-ho-ho-ho! No merchant can surpass our Nyarlathotep Trading in authority, wealth, connections, or development! Frustrating, isn't it? It is, isn't it! Doing business as the royal house makes us invincible!!"
The royal treasury prospered like never before.
In noble faction struggles, Koleha also excelled. She shone. Dishing out serves-you-right to enemy factions suited her all too well!
She had piles of weapons at her disposal: medicinal herbs, cosmetics, magitech… and above all, the status of a Saint within the royal house. She was invincible.
Only the 'revolution death end' was unacceptable, so she took care to avoid that.
"Ooh-ho-ho-ho! For the noble-supremacy types, simply favoring commoners lets me serves-you-right them. How easy! The royal house already takes that stance, so if you don't fall in line, you're in the wrong! Justice is on my side!"
"Hah-hah-hah, my wife is promoting capable commoners of her own accord. As expected."
"Whether noble or commoner, the incompetent are incompetent! The capable are capable! Ooh-ho-ho-ho! … Well, Your Highness Harks, which are you?"
"… I'd like to be capable!"
"Being royalty, and crown prince, and incompetent, there's no saving that! Do your utmost!! For my rank, honor, and serves-you-right!!"
And so, occasionally spurring her husband Harks on while being revered as the 'Saint of Grace', Koleha lived happily.
"Ooghf! … Ngh."
"W-what's wrong, Koleha!?"
"I was kicked in the belly… damn! The only one who could kick my belly and get away with it, that's you! Hurry up and be born already!"
"Ah… well, it is your child. Of course they'd kick their parent."
"I never kicked my father!"
… The child, it was said, was doted on ridiculously by a Saint who pushed the wet nurse aside, and trained by Vice Captain Kenho of the royal guard.
Koleha's motto was: "If I'm supremely happy, then everyone else is relatively unhappy! Serves-you-right!" And to make herself happy, she went all-out to develop the nation and have all manner of things tributed to her.
