The Dungeon Town, Karkassa
So fluffy--it's the best, right?
So, after keeping watch (mostly delegating to Aishia), the day of the new moon finally approached.
"No activity at all, huh~"
"That's right, Master."
I said that while taking over the Healer role from Aishia.
Recently, it's become too much trouble to change my voice and appearance every time, so I just wear the robe.
Oh, I can still transform into Healer instantly if someone comes. Yeah.
"Well then, I'll leave Master to you."
"Yeah. Take care of dinner. Yesterday's stew was delicious too."
"It's rewarding to hear that. Well then."
Aishia gave Mashiro-san a light bow and returned inside the backpack.
Mashiro-san had completely gotten used to us, but she didn't use the storage space room except for baths. She rested and ate in front of the dungeon core.
Apparently because she's technically on a job.
I suggested she at least use the storage space when sleeping, but she said she can't tell what's happening outside when she's in there. She gets anxious not knowing if the core she's guarding is safe and can't relax.
That said, I've actually set up a barrier—or more like a sensor—at the entrance to the dungeon's lower floor, the forest area. It uses spatial magic to detect suspicious people. So far, though, the only ones who've come through are people who legitimately greeted the door guard.
Of course, there's been no traffic through the new passage I found either.
Will the enemy really make a move? Maybe they gave up and went elsewhere.
As I yawned thinking that, Mashiro-san poked me.
"Don't let your guard down too much, Karina. The other side's definitely being cautious too."
"Mm~ it'd be nice if Mashiro-san's sense of smell could quickly sniff out suspicious people~"
"Can't. Mine's half intuition anyway. Plus, even if I can kinda tell bad people apart, anyone doing adventurer work's got some kinda dirt on 'em, ya know?"
By that logic, Mashiro-san must have something to feel guilty about too?
"… What kind of dirt does Mashiro-san have?"
"Ah. Actually, I punched my old man and left home, so I might be on a wanted list."
"Your parent's someone important enough that punching them gets you on a wanted list?"
Is Mashiro-san one of those cases where a lady from a good family became an adventurer?
"It's not a big deal. My old man has nearly fifty kids, so he might've forgotten about me."
"Wow~ beast kin really have lots of kids."
"When I left home, he had eight wives."
That's a harem. That's crazy. What, is he a king or something?
"Seems like you're misunderstanding, so lemme clarify—he's just a village chief. 'Chieftain' might be more accurate though. I'd accept being called a barbarian."
"Eh, does being a beast kin village chief mean you get a harem like that?"
"Dunno about others, but that's how it was at my place. You get it if I say it's like females flocking to strong males?"
I see. Being beast kin, they have beast-like ways of living.
Conversely, weak males must have it rough, but I'll set that aside.
"Mashiro-san must be popular too. You're beautiful and strong."
"Oh? That's right, I'm popular. The number of men and women I've made cry out is countless."
"Ah~ so you're popular with women too."
"The hell're ya saying? You've slept with me too. I'm gonna pay the rent today too, ya know."
When she says it so openly, it's, well, embarrassing…!
Like, when I'm with Mashiro-san, I completely get turned into the female! Geez!
In terms of technique, she doesn't match Harumikazuchi-oneesama, but her brute-force roughness is addictive, and, well, yeah… yeah.
"… Don't lay hands on Dea-kun or Aishia, okay?"
"Don't be stupid, I wouldn't touch kids. Rather, I'm the one helping ya blow off steam so you don't touch them."
"That's true."
Actually, they're both older than me and legal though.
Well, I do give Aishia little kisses in passing though. She's just so adorable.
"Still, what happens if the enemy doesn't come by the new moon, or even after?"
"Dunno. I'm fine continuing to keep watch as long as I get my job fee from the guild."
"… If that's Mashiro-san's stance, I guess I'll stick around too~"
"Hehe, that'd be great! Having a buddy around helps kill the boredom!"
She grabbed my head and started playfully nuzzling me.
It hurts a bit, but she smells nice and she's so fluffy—it's the best, right? Her breasts are pressing against me too, is this heaven? Oh, actually the pain is kinda a reward too. Ahhn.
"… Karina, you're really a weirdo, aren't ya."
"Hm? Am I? Also, what do you mean?"
"Nothing at all."
I didn't really get it, but Mashiro-san and I flirted while watching the dungeon core.
—And then, the day after we said all that, there was finally some movement.
