The Dwarven Nation, Tessin
A little bending of the rules works
We arrived at the town of Rosetta.
Rosetta sits at the foot of the mountains, with a townscape of mud bricks and packed earth stretching out before us. The whole place had a pale reddish-brown hue.
At the gate, I had Aishia disguise herself as Healer and take Arthur-kun under her command, which let us enter town without any issues.
I also delivered the letter and received two silver coins as payment afterward. Pocket money is always nice.
The soldier was pretty nervous seeing a dragon, even a shrunken one, but once I explained that it was a properly registered tamed beast, he handled things. Nervously, but still.
Hm? How did we handle the tamed beast registration? We did it, back in Karkassa. The Healer did, that is.
I, or rather, Healer has a liiittle bit of pull with the Guild Master there!
A little bending of the rules works out sometimes.
We also got them to fudge the registration date a bit, so our alibi is perfect.
Honestly, the Guild Card records are surprisingly detailed. Whoever made this system was definitely a reincarnator or someone transported here, and absolutely Japanese.
Anyway.
I walked through the town of Rosetta with Dea and Aishia.
Since we're here, might as well ask Aishia, who's from this country, about the town's highlights.
"Aishia, is there anything worth seeing in Rosetta?"
"Hmm, not really. It's definitely one of the larger towns in this country, but compared to the capital, there's almost nothing. If I had to say something, it's near the border so Paverkant Kingdom alcohol is easier to get here. That's about it."
I see. That's not exactly rare for us since we just came from Paverkant, though.
"The whole red clay landscape does give off that 'we're in a different town' vibe, which is nice."
"That's just the standard for this country, so if you're staying here long you'll get tired of seeing it pretty quickly."
Huh, is that how it is.
Also, she mentioned that the capital is mostly built to dwarf scale, so tall people have to duck through every doorway, making it cramped.
Someone my height shouldn't have any particular issues, though.
"For now, let's stop by the Adventurers' Guild to complete the delivery quest, and maybe check out the Merchants' Guild too."
"As a traveling merchant, wouldn't it be more profitable to stock up on dwarven 'juice' here and sell it back in Paverkant Kingdom?"
"That won't work since I don't have a liquor license. It might be fine in the dwarven country, but I'd probably get arrested in Paverkant."
"Oh, right. Sorry for the unsolicited advice."
In the dwarven country, any alcohol you can drink in one go is just 'flavored water,' wasn't it?
Well, I might as well buy some of that anyway.
"Oh, but if it's 'juice' here like Aishia said, then we could stock up on lots of Paverkant 'juice' here and spread it around in this country. That might work!"
"Ooh, that's a great idea, Master!"
If it's for bribery purposes, I wouldn't mind making duplicates and handing them out for free.
If I'm not selling them, duplicating is safe!
Plus, gifts go straight into people's stomachs - no evidence left behind!
(Though only a god could tell the difference between a duplicate and the original anyway.)
So, to be extra careful, I had Aishia, who's a half-dwarf with high alcohol tolerance, go buy some bribery booze - I mean, juice - and we decided to stay one night in this town.
As for an inn… yeah, probably don't need one. It's just one night, and finding an inn that'll accept a dragon would be more trouble than it's worth.
I'll just say we roughed it outdoors to save money.
Well, since this town doesn't have any particularly notable features, we'll just breeze through Rosetta with a one-night stay and head for the next town.
Our goal this time is the Divine Artifact, so our destination is the center of this country - the capital.
Apparently Aishia and Sati-tan's hometown is on the way, so I'll save the fun stuff for when we get there.
