Hidden Village and Dragon

This is the dragon's house

Standing imposingly atop the dragon's head, I rode toward his den.

The lair was a cave in the mountains. Apparently, orcs had settled there with goblins under their command, and the dragons took it from them.

"So this is the dragon's house, huh."

"Please don't just go charging in! Let me say something to her first!"

The black dragon blurted out as I hopped off his head.

His tone said "I'll protect her!" but his legs were trembling. How cute.

"Tch, fine, hurry up and go."

"Yes'm… Hey, my honey! We've got a guest here, would you be willing to talk with them?"

"Hold on, darling! I'm hungry! Where's dinner!?"

"Oh, s-sorry. I haven't caught anything yet."

A copper-brown dragon poked its head out from the cave mouth.

Prey, huh. I happened to have a wild boar on me. Might as well share.

"Oh, want this boar I caught earlier?"

"Seriously!? Thanks, thanks a ton!"

"What's up? Did someone come… huh? There's nobody here."

The copper-brown dragon looked around. Hmm, so humans don't even register to her.

"Here, the boar."

"Thanks! Yeah! Thanks!"

When I handed the boar to the black dragon right in front of his girlfriend, she finally seemed to notice me.

"Huh!? A human is talking! That's hilarious! And you're totally bowing and scraping to a human… so lame. What's wrong with you, darling?"

"Idiot! This person is… um, well, yeah! She's crazy strong! We couldn't beat her even if we teamed up! Please be polite to her!"

"Huh? I mean, she's human though?… For real?"

"For real for real. That means 'really?' right?"

"Whoa! And why can you speak Draconic!? That's awesome! Like, wow, awesome!"

Her eyes sparkled as she flapped her wings up and down in excitement.

What can I say, this dragon radiates gyaru energy. Alright, I'll call her Gyaru Dragon.

"So hey, Gyaru Dragon-chan. Have you demanded any sacrifices from humans lately?"

"Huh? Sacrifice?… What's a sacrifice again?"

"You know, when you make them hand over the culprit for, like, settling a score. And then they handle the punishment themselves? That thing."

"Oh, oh yeah. Haven't done that in like twenty years though?"

Huh, is that so?

She didn't seem to be lying. So the dragons aren't the ones making demands…?

"Anyway, tell me your name! I'm not Gyaru Dragon, I'm (untranslatable), you know!"

"Oh, I'm (untranslatable). Yeah, please tell us your name!"

Oops, I couldn't catch their names. Same thing happened with Arthur; there's probably no human word equivalent. The names just sounded like "gughghee" or "gaghghee."

Names stay the same across languages, so I suppose this is technically a correct translation.

"Hmm, sorry. Those names are too hard for me, so let me call you Gyaru Dragon… Gyaldra, and Ikiri Dragon, Kirigon."

"Okay! Isn't Gyaldra super cute? I'm totally gonna introduce myself like that from now on."

"Kirigon, huh. Yeah, not bad."

The two of them seemed pleased with the nicknames. Good thing, because everyone always says I have zero naming sense!

"I'm Karina. Nice to meet you."

"Karina, right? Okay! I'm gonna brag about meeting a talking human."

"H-hey! I told you, this person is… I'm so sorry, please forgive my girl!!"

Kirigon bowed his head over and over.

"But darling, you're totally scared of her. Is Karina-chan really that strong? Let's have a little battle, yeah?"

"Oh? Raising a hand against a cute girl kind of goes against my principles, so I'll go easy on you. Come at me."

"Okey-dokey! Then first, a test breath!"

BWOOSH!! A torrent of energy erupted from Gyaldra's maw.

I used Spatial Magic to bend it right into Kirigon.

"GYAAAH!?"

"Whoa! That's awesome! Are you okay, darling? Sorry about my breath."

"N-nah, this is nothing."

Kirigon swayed on his feet. Come on, at least tank your girlfriend's breath for her.

"Hey, hey, can you do strength contests too?"

"Sure, I'll lift you. Heave-ho."

"Whoa! That's awesome! You're so small but so powerful!?"

I hoisted Gyaldra up in a princess carry—well, that wasn't really possible given her size, so I just held her aloft with both hands. Using Spatial Magic, of course. My hands were purely for show.

"While I'm at it, let me heal Kirigon's wounds. There we go."

"Huh? Even if you're the Anego, there's no way human Healing Magic would work on… IT'S HEALED!?"

"What!? No way!? Karina-chan is amazing!"

Ho ho ho, praise me more. I'm the type who thrives on compliments!
