Come on, I'm Suddenly in a Checkmate...?
Nothing to Do, So Let's Try Magic for the First Time
After adding rooms, I ran out of DP and had nothing left to do.
That didn't change even after sleeping and waking up. Still not enough DP…
Now that I think about it, I should mention how I've been handling things like the toilet and meals.
For meals, I eat three times a day: a bread and water set (5 DP). By the way, the bread that comes out isn't some hard black bread—I can actually choose from sweet pastries or savory breads. It's a surprisingly considerate system. I pick the largest portions possible and share them with the goblin.
As for the toilet, well, I've been using a corner of the room… I mean, I at least set up a partition and toilet paper, okay? But I can't leave this master room, so what choice do I have?
The Dungeon Core absorbs all waste and garbage, making everything disappear without even leaving a smell behind—I'm truly grateful for that. Though Rokuko makes a disgusted face every time she absorbs poop.
"… Try having someone poop inside your own heart and see how you like it, huh?"
"Hahaha, how unladylike for a girl to say 'poop.' Come on, isn't it fine? There's goblin poop too, you know. Shouldn't a goblin fetishist like Rokuko be crying tears of joy?"
"Hey, what do you actually think of me?! Do you even see me as an intelligent life form?!"
"Hmm, well… a mysterious creature, I guess? Oh, but like I said before, I'll give your legs credit. They're pale but nicely filled out—quite healthy-looking."
"Ugh, this master is creepy."
That said, I haven't taken a bath or shower in several days now.
My hair's probably starting to smell… I glanced at the goblin beside me. Same ugly face and painful-looking fangs as always. Clothes? Just a tattered rag wrapped around its waist. Very wild.
If you left such a wild creature alone for a few days, wouldn't it start smelling like an unwashed dog? That's what I thought, but it was perfectly clean. Is there some secret to it?
"Oh, I've been using the life magic [Purification] on it."
Magic. Right, this is a fantasy world.
"Magic, huh? Well, if it's magic, I guess that explains it. Have you been using it on me too?"
"Eh, you needed Purification?"
"… Ah, so the goblin gets special treatment because of your goblin fetish."
"That's not it! I just didn't know the Dungeon Master needed [Purification]! Besides, just do it yourself!"
"Wait, wait, wait—you're assuming I can use magic?"
"Huh, you can't?"
According to her, everyone can use it. Even humans.
Even the bandits were apparently using it when I wasn't looking…
Can I use it too? I asked her how.
"You just put magic power into it and do [Purification], that's all."
I don't understand at all. What does she mean, 'put magic power into it'? 'Just do [Purification],' she says. She's like one of those recipe books that tells you to add 'a pinch of salt' without specifying how many teaspoons or grams that actually is. I'm from a world without any magic, you know! I'm an absolute beginner here!
"… Kehma, you can use the menu, right? It's the same feeling as that, okay?"
"Seriously? [Purification]… Oh, it worked."
Along with a sensation like a carbonated membrane sweeping from my head down to my feet, my body was purified.
Now I can sleep peacefully knowing my body is clean. If I cast this right after waking up, the sweat will be washed away and I can enjoy a comfortable second sleep. It seems to consume something like MP—there's even a pleasant sense of fatigue. What an optimal magic for sleeping. Wonderful.
"By the way, life magic that manifests just from an image and magic power has no requirements, but for anything reasonably powerful, you have to learn it properly using a scroll, you know?"
"A scroll? … Like a scroll?"
"Yes. You could theoretically learn everything from the theory to manifestation on your own, but that's at the level of 'not impossible, but not realistic.' That's what researchers do. Normally, you learn magic by using scrolls. Well, I've never used one myself… Oh, aren't they in the DP catalog?"
When I checked after she mentioned it, there were things like [Scroll of Fire Ball (500 DP)] and [Scroll of Earth Barrier (700 DP)] in the treasures section.
The attributes were based on the four great elements of earth, water, wind, and fire, with special attributes like light, dark, and space-time as well.
Furthermore, each was divided into tiers: Bottom-tier, Low-tier, Mid-tier, Advanced-tier, Special-tier, Ruler-tier, and Divine-tier. Fire Ball seemed to be classified as Low-tier fire-attribute magic.
Among them, something in Mid-tier earth-attribute magic caught my attention.
[Scroll of Create Golem (10000 DP)]
I'm very interested. If I use this, couldn't I create a servant that does whatever I say?
Well, Rokuko already does whatever I say, but having a little girl act as my servant makes me feel guilty, so I want something more… robotic.
That's an item I'll want eventually, but I wonder whether I should prioritize it or the [Heavenly Pillow] for the same DP…
