The dungeon chosen for the collab stream with Dungeon Braver: "Slime Falls." Set in a fantastical forest where slimes of every color and shape came crawling out, it was a comparatively gentle dungeon with few powerful foes, making it a fitting place for beginners and adventurers to stack up experience.
Which made it the perfect pick for today's tutorial-style collab stream.
"Well then, first things first. Have all of you brought the equipment I mentioned in advance?"
In the bright forest, shafts of sunlight streaming through the leaves, Karona slowly unfurled her parasol. Her main weapon: the Mithril parasol.
The weapons usable in BCD, like the avatars themselves, were made of Debris. To put it more precisely, they had to be crafted from materials composed of Debris. Which meant that even though BCD was a game, players couldn't just casually pad out their arsenal.
You had to properly commission either an "official workshop" or a "production-class player," and it would run you a not-insignificant sum of yen and time.
(Especially for a custom-order specialty weapon like Karona's.)
This was the one thing that had to be prepped ahead of time.
"Yeah. I figured I'd go with this sword. It's sturdy, and more than that, I'm used to swinging it."
"I'll go with a crowbar. The looks are a bit… whatever, but it works fine for general exploration too."
"I brought a mithril mace. I'm the priestess, so this is the obvious pick, right?"
"Very good," Karona said with a nod.
"Now, as a reminder for everyone in Dungeon Braver. For Slime Golf, what you need is a weapon that's easy to swing around, sturdy enough to smack a core without breaking, and ideally acid-resistant enough to shrug off corrosion."
She snapped her parasol shut with a crisp click and gave it a few practice swings. Lately Karona's avatar seemed to have leveled up a bit, because the parasol felt easier to swing than before.
Ryutanji Karona Channel: Comments
"a sword's one thing… but a crowbar lolll this guy's serious huh?"
"apparently they're weirdly versatile. i've heard of people using them to pry off dragon scales and stab in"
"mithril mace is peak female-priestess. GJ. ojou can't lose either!"
Dungeon Braver: Comments
"heeey, mithril parasol huh. a custom-order weapon, this Ojou-sama's no joke"
"yamato, you'll pick it up in no time! go for it! (translation complete)"
"sakura-chan's mithril mace (´Д`)hahhh hahhh…"*
And so comments from both Karona's viewers and Yamato's Dungeon Braver viewers appeared on screen, drifting and flowing around Yamato and the others.
"Oh my! So this is what a collab stream looks like from the inside!"
"Yeah. They don't show up as stream comments on your side, but the comment feed itself gets rendered on screen."
"We can see Karona-jou's stream comments over here too, y'know."
"Fufu, is this Karona-chan's first time? It's pretty fun, right?"
She'd watched other streamers' collabs before, but seeing one from the streamer's side was new and fresh to Karona.
And with that, the Slime Golf tutorial began.
