The 'Kuh, kill me!' Female Knight
Wanna Go to the Dungeon?
"Master Kehma! What will we be doing today!?"
"We'll be diving into the dungeon."
I decided to take Shikina into the dungeon, hoping she'd become the person I could foist dungeon-related jobs onto whenever Gozoh comes asking.
So it's the three of us: me, Niku, and Shikina. Though for Niku and me, it's just a walk in the park.
"This is my first time going into a dungeon! I have exterminated monsters on many occasions, though!"
"That so? Well, make sure to keep an eye out for traps."
"Yes, of cou――I sprained my ankle!"
Already!?
I helped Shikina out of the pitfall trap and used [Healing] on her.
"Could you not get caught by a trap right after I told you to watch out…?"
"I am ashamed. I wouldn't be hurt like this if I could use my magic sword."
"Magic sword? What, does it have some convenient function?"
"My beloved sword, Sion, has the effect of negating damage."
Eh, isn't that broken?
"Why not use it if it's that useful?"
"I'm allowed to use it!? Then I shall!"
With that, Shikina unsheathed the sword at her waist.
It was a steel sword. Its handle was fitted with a tear-shaped blue magic stone. So this is Sion.
"I have been told to avoid using it if at all possible."
"Does it have a huge downside? Like you take all of the negated damage at once later on?"
"Nothing that terrible. It's just that my clothes take the damage when I am hit. Using my sprained ankle from before as an example… I'd have holes in my socks."
So in other words, the sword transfers the damage to her clothing.
… What kind of magic sword is that!?
"Also, if I take a fatal hit, all my clothes disappear at once and I end up completely naked."
"What a powerful magic sword. Very powerful indeed."
"It certainly is useful, but Father says it is not a sword he wants his unmarried daughter wielding."
Obviously…!
"Well, on the battlefield, worrying about being naked would just get me killed, so I use it freely!"
"Y-yeah. Just be careful, okay? Ah, wait, that door…"
"Huh? Hgwah!?"
Stabbed by a sword that shot out from the door, a portion of her clothing burst apart. Even though it was her torso that took the hit, it was her skirt that took the damage.
… True, her body was unharmed, but she's going to run out of clothes at this rate.
"… Shikina, walk behind Niku. Niku, please teach her about these traps."
"Y-yes. Thank you, Senpai."
"Okay. First off――"
Then, even with Niku's guidance, one thing led to another and she got caught in yet another trap, dealing devastating damage to her skirt.
"How did that even happen?"
"… It happened while I was watching her. I'm sorry."
"… Kuh, please don't stare so much, Master!"
Standing pigeon-toed and fidgeting, Shikina hid her underwear with her hands.
Even Niku looked apologetic… no, Niku, you did well. It's her fault for getting caught in a trap.
"Well, cover up your underwear at least. Here, take this cloth."
"Uuu, thank you. But Master, I don't mind if you steal a peek."
Sure, seeing her thighs through her tattered skirt is charming, but I'm not that desperate.
I handed Shikina the cloth that I pulled from my bag (actually exchanged with DP), and she wrapped it around her waist.
"Master is well prepared… it's almost as if you knew my skirt would be torn!"
"Don't say weird things. I only brought the cloth in case we needed to bandage a wound or stabilize a broken arm. More importantly, if your clothes tear that easily, why don't you carry spares?"
"… Oh! That's a great idea!"
Is she an idiot? If your clothes tear, bringing spares is the obvious solution.
"As long as I have replacement clothes, I can take as much damage as I want! As expected of Master! I'll buy a stockpile as soon as we get back."
"Yeah, just get cheap secondhand stuff. Think of them as your remaining lives."
"Remaining lives! What an accurate phrase! In other words, as long as I have remaining lives, I can charge through traps without worry!"
"No, you shouldn't be setting off traps in the first place. Pay attention."
Incidentally, does the phrase "remaining lives" even make sense here? Must be some past hero's doing.
With that, I noticed two goblins somewhat nearby.
She lost every match yesterday, so let's see if having her fight some goblins, the quintessential small-fry monsters, can lift her spirits.
"Oi, goblins coming from over there. You can handle them on your own, right?"
"Sir! Understood!"
I lured the soon-to-be-sacrificed goblins over while urging Shikina to prepare for battle.
The two goblins soon arrived.
"Here I go! Deeeeryaaa!"
"Gobu!?"
The first goblin was cut cleanly in two. A beautiful bisection.
The second goblin, seeing that, brandished its club.
"Toooooryaaaa!"
The goblin blocked her sword with its club.
However, Sion should have sliced through the club and the goblin together… but it didn't.
There was a nasty cracking sound, and Shikina stepped back.
"Guh!? Oh no!"
"Oi, weren't you supposed to have B-Rank potential? Why are you struggling against a goblin?"
"Th-this is nothing! Seeeiya!"
A slicing sound rang out, and the goblin's head flew off. Its headless body collapsed to the floor.
"… I won!"
"Yeah… So, what was that strange sound? It sounded like it came from your sword."
"Ugu. You're right. It probably cracked during that last fight…"
Looking closely, there was a crack running about half the blade's width from where it had struck the club.
"Yes, it'll probably break after just one or two more full-strength swings."
"That's… too bad, considering what a fine magic sword it is."
"Indeed. I won't be able to use it until at least tomorrow."
… Hm?
"It repairs?"
"Sion breaking is a common occurrence. It fixes itself as long as I sheathe it."
What? It even self-repairs? That's impressive… wait.
"You said that sword breaks often?"
"Yes. It will break as soon as I try to force my way through something too hard, so I have to make sure to slice through cleanly."
A glass sword made of steel, basically.
All I can picture now is her equipment in tatters and her sword snapping with a "kuh," while she stands there unharmed thanks to its effect.
"… So that means Iron Golems and the like are basically your worst matchup?"
"If I cut through the iron cleanly, it's fine. Personally, I find goblin clubs to be much harder to deal with. Golems are actually easy to cut. It'd break instantly if I messed up, though."
She just casually said she can cut through iron. What.
As an aside, it sounds like Niku can cut through iron as well. You two are something else.
