The Aspiring-Ojou-sama-type Dungeon Streamer

Slime Golf, Mastered!

"Well then, with that, I've passed on the art of Slime Golf to everyone… though somehow it's turned into Slime Baseball and Slime Badminton along the way, hasn't it~?"

Watching the three members of Dungeon Braver take their practice swings, Karona offered her observation.

Yamato and Yuuta were swinging like batters. Sakura was swinging like she held a badminton racket.

"Ah, yeah. Turns out the motion your body already knows is the easiest one to connect with."

"We've all got a sports background. If anything, this is just the form that clicks for me…"

"Karona-chan, do you actually play golf in real life?"

"Oh, I do nothing of the sort in real life. Rather, it's hardly an exaggeration to say the only sport I play at all is inside BCD~"

Karona let out a little sigh. Sports equipment costs money, so in practice, she'd had next to no chance to play any IRL.

"So then, everyone. Today you've mastered Slime Golf… well, we're lumping it all together as Slime Golf for convenience's sake, but in any case…"

Here, Karona casually stooped and picked up a stone that had been lying on the ground.

"Pretend this is a slime core! Tei!"

"Whoa!? Toryaaa!!"

Ka-kiiin!! Yamato's sword met Karona's thrown stone on pure reflex. A clean home run.

"And just like that! Everyone's body is already conditioned to hit things other than slimes! You can hit anything. Which means anything can be a projectile~!"

"Oh! Yeah, this is… hitting a slime was like three times harder!!"

"So we can use it in dungeons that don't even have slimes!"

"There's usually something or other lying around in a dungeon, after all."

Indeed. A dungeon almost always has something or other scattered about.

Stones, chunks of broken brick. Slimes were, in the end, just one of the many "projectiles" already lying at your feet.

"But really, Yamato-sama. If you've got a baseball background, did it never occur to you to just hit whatever was lying around?"

"… I've taken full-swing slashes at enemies before, sure."

Dungeon Braver: Comments

"yamato, buddy…"

"well, we never thought of it either, so we can't really give yamato grief"

"now that they mention it… you could hit stuff with a sword or a crowbar, right? why has nobody been doing this?"

Ryutanji Karona Channel: Comments

"porter-san and company, don't mind it"

"now that i think about it, there's a lot of people who just attack normally. i've seen hunters who craft arrows from dungeon materials, but still"

"turning dungeon objects and enemies straight into ammo… maybe it's one of those columbus's egg things"

The viewers tilted their heads, late to catch on to Karona's simple idea.

"Ah, well, this might be hard to get unless you're a BCD player, but… you end up forgetting the stuff you can do in real life. Plus you've got magic and whatnot to fall back on."

"Having options given to you actually ends up restricting your thinking. That whole preconception of 'a sword is for cutting,' y'know? It's hard to imagine using your precious weapon for weird stuff."

"Honestly, until you taught us, I half-thought it was one of Karona-chan's skills. And if you swing too hard you shatter the core and it won't fly, so there's a downside in that direction too."

Nodding along, Yamato and the others replied to the chat. Apparently the knack was to ease off and go soft right before contact.

"Well then, as the finishing touch for today, shall we go take down the boss of this dungeon?"

"Fine by me. Hmm, but the boss here… I don't think Slime Golf will beat it. Based on the trend, it'll almost certainly be a giant slime."

"But closing out the stream with everyone pulverizing the boss as a commemoration wouldn't be half bad either."

"Then let's go! Umm, which way is the boss?"

Karona and company had done zero exploring since arriving at the dungeon, so only now were they finally starting to scout the place out.

That said, "Slime Falls" wasn't a particularly large dungeon. Just as its name suggested, a waterfall sat at the center. Following the zaa-zaa of rushing water, they found a massive red boss slime bathing in the falls.
